The Program

A banner pool has been established into which advertisers can place their banners. Banners from the pool, which will be limited to 40 banners, will be shown at random at the top of each SCMO page, and twice on the front page. Thus, over time each banner will receive an equal number of viewings. Currently, we are averaging nearly 400,000 page views per month at SCMO, meaning each banner can be expected to be displayed approximately 10,000 times per month.

The advertising rate at Southern California Marlin Online is $20 per month, or $200 for a full year. This will allow you to place one banner of your choosing in the banner pool, where it will be viewed on a rotating basis. If desired, multiple banner slots can be purchased to increase banner viewing.

I'm Interested - What Do I Do Next?

1. Determine how long you want to advertise with us, and contact us so we can reserve a place for you in the banner pool. You can use the form below, or email us at ads@marlinnut.com.
2. Send us your banner. We use the internet-standard 468 by 60 pixel banner size, like the one below, in JPG or GIF format.

   If you already use other banner advertising services such as LinkExchange or Banner Swap, you can use that banner here without modification. If you have a banner you'd like to use that isn't exactly the right size, send it to us anyway and we'll see if we can modify it for use. If you have no banner at all, we can create one for you for $25. But, be advised that our staff's strengths are in fishing, not art, so you might be better served to have one professionally created! If you have no electronic file, we can scan your picture for you. Email us for details.

3. Send us a check for the appropriate amount. The check should be made out to "Stan Ecklund - SCMO" and should be sent to the SCMO Home Office at 2012 1/2 Pullman Lane, Redondo Beach, CA 90278-4912. Alternatively, you can pay via credit card using PayPal. Email us for details if you are interested in this method.

That's all there is to it. Once we have your banner, we'll add it to the rotation and you'll see it in action in the pages of SCMO. But don't delay - there are only 40 available slots. Once they're filled, you'll have to wait until a spot opens up.
