Online Gamefish Release Reporting System

Too often, anglers are rewarded for killing "trophy" fish while those who choose to release must settle for the silent appreciation of their fellow angler. The Online Gamefish Release Reporting System will help change that. Post the details of your catch on our release board for all to see and recognize.

Species: Striped Marlin           Catch Date: 12/18/2007

Angler Name: Warren Brantley

Boat: Dona Pas           Captain: Felipe Luna
Tackle: Shimano Tiagra 25           Method: orange/red jet head
Location: Los Cabos/Light House
Comments: Caught the handline marlin two days prior. On this date caught four striped marlin. Nothing new about that except the last of the lot went about 30 pounds. That's common in Kona but new to me in Cabo. This is one of two juvenile striped marlin (the other was about 45 pounds) I caught over 4 days of catching. I brought back 36 genetic samples for Dr. Shivji with the Guy Harvey Institute at Nova University this trip. Regards, Doc

Tackle: 1000 feet of rope/leather gloves           Method: bait and switch

Comments: OK,Blame Chris Dinwiddie the former dockmaster at Tropic Star Lodge for planting this lame idea in my head in July of 2006 when I took him out fishing with me and Jeb. Said he always wanted to catch a marlin on a handline. OK Chris, did it!!!! Just one caution..........PUT THE GLOVES ON FIRST!! [Oh those last 2 posts were confirmed as "blancos" by Dr. Shivji. Oops.] Cheers, Doc

It also met all roundscale criteria. Twelve minute fight and went about 55 pounds. Regards, Doc
