Re: Current strength question

How does a (pelagic) fish know it's in a current?

Seriously, without any sea floor reference when the depth may be 1000 fathoms.

Re: Tonga

The 20lb record species was pacific blue marlin.

OK, I get it re preparing for that grander. Big blues are out there sparingly in the south pacific islands - not like Hawaii, Bermuda, Cape Verde...

Re: Tonga

You took 130's to Tonga? Apart from not really needing them, how much did excess luggage cost??

We get smacked coming out of Sydney just with a couple of 20lb outfits and usual bags and some lures...

Re: Question About Night Fishing ?

I've met guys in Tonga who swear it's productive on mahi mahi and yellow fin. Back in January, one of our SGFC club boats was travelling from Sydney to Lord Howe Island (a few hundred miles offshore)...

RE: Honolulu Gamefishing Charters?

I fished on "Mazeltov" in July last year. Apart from no fish (we had a couple of hits - probably yellowfin) it was a good boat, captain and crew http://www.fish-hawaii.com/MazelTov/index.html

Odagiri fish head lures from Hawaii?

Does anyone know where these can be sourced, preferably online or via mail order?

I live in Australia, and the only way I know to get them is via retail shops in Honolulu.
