Default Albies and Yellows off the Inner Banks Ensenada

Wow, am I tired as I struggle to write this report at 11pm. We fished Sunday and Today for 2 different results.

Sunday we fished 6 miles southeast of the 295 in pouring rain for 15 Albies to 30lbs. and 15 Tails to 36lbs, not bad for 3 guys. The fish bit the 7Strand mini clones and the mini jets real well and we had one good bait stop for 4 fish. The tails all came from 1 monster paddy and they were quality. We also saw one large school of jumping Bluefin that looked to be between 50 and 70 lbs. but they were all show, no go. Water temp was 63 to 63.8 where we had all the action. Without ANCHOVIES forget about baitfish.

Today the weather kicked our ass and we were in a 44' Pacifica. It was victory at sea on the Worm Bank/Lower 500 where we managed 1 25lb. Yellowtail. The albies were absent and we paid the price for fishing. Water temps dropped to 61 in the area we caught fish on Sunday.

I am falling asleep,

Chet- I fished yesterday on the AMIGO. I know Sunday was rough, but Monday was like being on the set of the Perfect Storm...try sleeping in 25 knots and a big NW lump in the forward bunk. I took three blue PMs and still no zzzzs. We had slow fishing on the Fly, all single jig fish except one triple at day break. The HOT color was loco joe Mini feathers and loco joe Tuna Clones. 14 guys 17 fish, lost on bft on a kelp. Mike and crew worked really hard in tough conditions.

late,

Hoose

Bob-

That weather yesterday was a struggle but a good sea trial for the new boat and it passed with flying colors. There is a serious lack of fish off Ensenada, I am getting jealous of all the good fish counts up north. Can't wait till boat jail is over with in the Coral. Talk to you later.
