Default Greetings from New Zealand

Gidday from NZ.

I am new to this forum stuff so wont take up too much time. Here in NZ we fish for Stripped Marlin Dec-May or our summer. We are lucky that most world records come from this part of the world so they tend to be on the larger size an average Stripey is in the 90-130 kg range though 150-170 kg are not uncommon so they can keep you on your toes.

Most of us fish stand up from 6-8m Aluminium outboard powered boats and will tow them 3-8hrs to were the hot bite is. Though most of the time we fish our home fishery off the Manukau Harbour, Auckland NZ. 30min. tow away. We cross a breaking bar from the harbour which can be well, challenging to get to the grounds which can be up to 40 miles off shore though normally inside 20 miles.

So thats me, our season starts in a few months we are all going a bit crazy at the moment. An upcomming trip to Fiji will just about get me through.

Tight lines and I probably see you around

We're jealous of the Kiwi striped marlin fishery in a good SoCal year, so you can imagine how we're feeling this season when the marlin forgot to show up. Looking forward to hearing more about your adventures!
