Default RE: Capt. Danny Waugh.....Where the Hell are You?

Aloha to all our SCMO friends who've TAKEN THE TIME TO HELP (you know who you are) as evidenced by Dr. Zhou's e-mail to "American Citizen Services, Consular Officer John Daniel Morris".

When I first contacted Dr. Zhou and asked if she knew what happened to Capt. Dan, she gave me this flippant response

"I have not heard from him,

kate"

Pa Pa has called me yesterday and today and we've discussed HOW to get this "investigation" into Capt. Dan's status going. I relieve believe that with the help of our SCMO friends, you provided the impetus for Dr. Zhou to start INQUIRING with people who might know what's happened. Hopefully the situation isn't serious and it finally appears we're gaining momentum.

Aloha,

Take a look at this map...

http://www.travelchinaguide.com/imag...na-map-2-m.gif

Acording to he Doctors message he is in the south in Nanning

This is a zoom of nanning...

http://www.travelchinaguide.com/imag...-china-map.gif

Look at the bottom at the province of Guanxi...

This is some info I found on the province...

Characterized by marvelous seaside scenery and full-bodied ethical customs, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is blessed with colorful resources and is an imposing region for sightseeing.
Guangxi, called "Gui" for short, is situated in the southern part of China and is adjacent to the provinces of Yunnan to the west, Guizhou to the north, Hunan to the northeast and Guangdong to the southeast. Bordering Vietnam, Guangxi is convenient for tourists crossing overland into Vietnam or vice-versa. With an area of about 230,000 square kilometers (88,780 square miles), topography of Guangxi is basin-like and the limestone distribution occupies half of the total area. Unique topography forms natural sights. You can breathe fresh air and relax yourself by enjoying wonderful landscape everywhere.

Sounds like a place where Dann would like. ;) Can wet a line there. :7

...on a serious note...at least this is a good beggining. I hope we can find him.

JC

Default American Citizens Service

[font color="navy" face="book antiqua" size="4"][i][b]This is the reply from the American Citizens Services-Beijing China, message short & sweet. It might not be a bad idea that the next time any of you go to China that you bring with you a top o the line GPS system coupled together with Satellite phone,-- oh, I don't know, maybe just in case you get LOST. Papa :+

Thank you for the e-mail. According to our warden system Capt. Waugh has not registered with us so we ourselves do not have any idea on his whereabouts. Have you reported this to the local police?

I am also sending this to our colleagues at Guangzhou Consulate for their assistance since Nanning, Guangxi is under Guangzhou jurisdiction.

[font color="navy" face="comic sans ms" size="2"]Papa, it is impossible for the US Embassy to know if Dan is there or not if he has not registered... that simple.
I just sent the letter below (I copied you and the others) let's wait and see what Mr. Morris replies...

Dear Mr. Morris,

Please excuse me for addressing you directly.
We are a group of Danny's friends from many different parts of the world; some from the US, others from Hawaii, El Salvador and the United Kingdom.

We highly appreciate your help and clearly understand your limitations and if Danny Waugh did not register with your office it is impossible for you to know if he is there or not. The entity that we believe must have records of him is the Chinese Immigration Service, they should have the exact date that Danny arrived in China and also the address where he was going to be staying... respectfully I would like to ask if there is a chance you can contact the Chinese Immigration Service and ask the question for us.

Sir, you are our only hope of finding Dan... please help us.

Best regards...

Francisco Saca
