Default wood lathe turned lures

Hey guys Ive been looking around about this topic and found some valuable info on here about this. The lure making bug has bite me and it has bite hard. The problem im having is the lathe is turning but the head will not. The lathe is turning on top of the resin head. Whats the trick to hold it in there and it turn the head. Also, whats the best type of material to use for the insert. Im using brass tubing with different colors of eyes/weights etc. for now with the clear casting resin. All help will be greatly appreciated thanks.
