07/12/2006: "Doing My Part"
It's hard to believe, but there was a time when there was not one, but two professional football teams in Los Angeles. But since 1994, when the Rams left to become the "greatest show on turf" and the Raiders left to become, well, the Raiders, it's been all quiet on the NFL front.
There are those of us, though, who believe there will once again be football in Los Angeles. I don't know when, and I don't know how, but it will happen. This is La-La, though, so if we're going to swing a franchise, we need an edge ... a gimmick ... something that the others just don't have.
I've been doing my part, working hard scouring the ballfields and beaches looking for just the right kind of person to lead our effort - someone who has that special something. So I'm happy to present to you the quarterback for the new LA franchise, Jessica Biel.
I'm off to scout the Lingerie Bowl for a couple of wide receivers and a tight end ...
