09/20/2007: "Veggie-Style Eye Candy"

I'm fishing in the Pesky this weekend, so you get your Eye Candy a day early. I just don't want to hear about you converting to soy burgers by Monday ...

We talked in a recent entry about advertising and the willingness of advertisers to slap their logos on damned near anything. There is, of course, an opposite tact to that method - the totally stripped down ad.

PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, is a group that will never have me as a member. I don't want to see animals mistreated any more than anyone else, but their extremist views are far too hardcore for me. I do, appreciate their advertisements.

Alicia Silverstone is an actress best known for her role in "Clueless" over a decade ago. She's still at it, although never reaching similar levels. Now she's joined forces with PETA to advertise for something. Not sure what that word is that starts with a "V", but I assume that's what they're hyping ... :-)

Frankly, with ads like this, I'm not sure I even care what the product is ...
